Providing travel assistance for over 30 years

Since 1991, World Travel Protection has specialized in emergency medical (including evacuation or repatriation), health, travel safety and travel assistance services to business or leisure travellers.

As a trusted partner of both domestic and global programs, we have the ability to assist customers in any situation, from a lost bag in Miami, to performing life-saving evacuations off of Mt. Everest. We are there, wherever and whenever our customers need us most.

World Travel Protection core competencies include:

24/7 Emergency Assistance

Emergency Assistance Program Specialists are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They provide multilingual travel emergency medical assistance as well as concierge services and legal referrals. They can also arrange for ticket/itinerary changes, help with emergency transfer of funds, supply information on embassies/consulates, advise of current weather and provide other travel-related services.

Medical Case Management

The Medical Assistance team helps insureds by arranging referrals to a doctor or hospital, monitoring medical care, and co-ordinating repatriations. Staff physicians, medical case managers and assistance specialists work together to monitor medical emergencies in over 170 countries worldwide. Regular reviews and analysis of each case ensures the most effective outcome for both the customer and the underwriter. This team arranges all necessary details including payments to facilities, return of vehicle and repatriations of insureds and remains.

Cost Containment and Provider Relations

WTP has established world-wide arrangements to contain costs and ensure appropriate service delivery. In the USA, where Canadian travel insurers incur most of their claims, WTP has a nationwide network of Preferred Providers with a penetration of over 90% of claims dollars. WTP works with clients to ensure compliance with managed care wording and provides pro-active case management to ensure effective claims control.

Claims Management

Dedicated claims examiners review each file to ensure compliance with policy wording.
